About The Event
The Pre-Christmas Celebration at SFS Guwahati on 23rd December 2025 was a vibrant and joy-filled occasion that united the entire SFS family, students from Classes L.K.G. to XII and all staff members from both the Mermier and SFS Blocks. The day was marked by festive cheer, spiritual reflection, and heartfelt camaraderie.
Morning Celebration – Students’ Programme
The festivities began with the morning assembly, conducted separately at the Mermier Block and SFS Block, commencing at 8:00 am and 9:00 am respectively. The serene atmosphere was set with a soulful prayer song, inviting everyone into the spirit of Christmas.
Soon, the campus resonated with the melodious sounds of Christmas carols as young Desalites showcased an array of Christmas-themed performances. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and festive energy captivated the audience, filling the morning with warmth and celebration.
A standout moment of the programme was a beautifully choreographed presentation depicting the birth of Jesus. The students portrayed the Nativity story with grace and reverence, reminding everyone of the true essence of Christmas.
Following the performances, Principal Rev. Fr. George Thomas and Vice Principal Sr. Baby Rose addressed the gathering. They extended heart-warming Christmas greetings to the entire school community, encouraging students to embrace the values of love, peace, and togetherness. Their message fostered unity and joy among the Desalite family.
The student celebration concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of a memorable and spiritually enriching morning.
Afternoon Celebration – “My Christmas Friend” for Staff Members
Continuing the festive joy, the staff of SFS Guwahati gathered at Mermier Hall at 2:00 pm for the much-loved annual tradition—“My Christmas Friend.”
Rooted in the spirit of goodwill, this tradition highlights the idea of having a “Christmas friend” who prays for the welfare of their chosen person throughout the year. To celebrate the joy of giving, each staff member brought a thoughtful gift for their selected Christmas friend.
The gift-exchange session was lively, cheerful, and filled with laughter. As each surprise was unveiled, the hall echoed with excitement and heartfelt appreciation, making the afternoon truly memorable. Through these simple acts of giving and receiving, the bonds of friendship among staff members grew even stronger.
The celebration concluded at 4:00 pm, leaving behind cherished memories of togetherness, gratitude, and festive joy.
